About The St. Vincent de Paul Society

Inspired by the Gospel values, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Catholic lay organization, leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Our conference, part of the Diocesan Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We proudly serve the Kingman and Golden Valley, Arizona areas. Our store will always provide for the needs of prayer and fellowship, outside Client Services hours. They also provide a sack lunch to the homeless who would like one, during store hours. If we have two Vincentians available outside Client Services normal hours, we maybe able to arrange for an emergency food assistance, but if it is not an emergency, you must visit Client Services.

Client Services is where the majority of our community services must be provided. Client Services will always provide for the communities basic needs of prayer and fellowship. They will always provide emergency food assistance and for clothing the community. No matter how slim our budget has ever been, we have always provided for these and will continue to provide for the communities fellowship, spiritual wellbeing, feeding and clothing those in need.

Fortunately at this time we do find ourselves in a position to offer additional services to the community. This is due to our Thrift Store customers and generous donors. Although the budget for some of these services maybe limited, we are offering some of them, utilizing certain guidelines. Other than Emergency Utility Assistance or Furniture requests, you must go through Client Services, during their normal hours. Their hours and information on how to apply for Emergency Utility Assistance, Can be found on the Client Services page of our website. Some  other services which maybe available, are propane vouchers, emergency gas vouchers, household linens, household items, school shirts, state identification, food handler cards, KART tickets, and many more services based on your individual needs and available funding.
